Update for 12/22/08

New review for Nibble #5 by Tom Cherry, a cheery holiday tale, in case you thought I had no holiday spirit at all.

Update for 12/21/08

New review for Izzy Challenge #5 edited by JB Winter and containing 50 different artists from all over the country.  Still a few more comics to get through before the holiday, and if you wanted to order anything from the online store and have me send it out before I leave town for the year, now would be a good time…

Update for 12/20/08

New review for Trubble Club #1 by various Chicago artists…

Update for 12/18/08

New review for This Is What Concerns Me by Susie Cagle, and I’m going to try and get through most of my comics pile before I head out for the holiday, so expect a brief spurt around here followed (probably) by very little activity until the new year.

Update for 12/16/08

New review for Cavities Comix Presents by Erin Griffin, and to anybody who was curious, I was actually able to sell my pile of Avengers comics.  The other ones listed, not so much…

Update for 12/14/08

New review for Tuxedo Bandit #2 by Rainer Lee, and those eBay auctions I was flogging are about to end.  So, if you see this in the next few hours and want a mess of Avengers comics, a mess of Fantastic Four comics or a mess of West Coast Avengers/Solo Avengers comics, please, bid away.  And my grab bag offer is now off the table (for the moment at least), as it looks like we have a winner on that front.

Update for 12/11/08

Sorry about the slow week, but it turns out I did in fact have a life that I was neglecting while working those long hours.  Who knew?  New review today for 8 Stories by Rob Jackson, and please scroll down to check out those eBay auctions.  1 whole person has actually bid on those Fantastic Four comics so far, and I sure would love to get rid of that stuff.  Oh, and did I say $50 for a grab bag of 100 small press comics?  How about $30 (or $40 if you want it by Christmas)?  Think of all the stockings you could stuff with that many comics!

Update for 12/9/08

Well, so much for those weekend updates.  Oops.  New review today for Burning Building Comix #5 by Jeff Zwirek, what looks to be the last issue of that series.  Also, I have a few things up on eBay and, as everybody knows, all comics are exactly the same, so I thought maybe some of you more discerning comics readers would like the chance to bid on some superhero stuff I bought years ago.  There’s my collection of 120 Avengers comics, 75 West Coast Avengers and Solo Avengers comics, and 108 Fantastic Four comics.  Good chunks of all these collections are in order, mostly from the mid 80’s to 1992.  Maybe you have kids or younger relatives who would enjoy these, maybe you’d just like to kick back and read a lot of superhero stuff all at once, or maybe you’d just like to support the website financially.  Oh, and one special deal for the readers of this website: 100 small press comics for $50 (or $60 if you want it by Christmas).  It’s a grab bag, but tell me who you like and what types of comics you enjoy and I’ll try to tailor it to your wishes.  Frankly, if I got a lot of interest in the grab bag idea I could probably do it a few times over.  I have all kinds of comics that later got collected into graphic novels or things where I ended up with multiple copies to go along with all the stuff I just didn’t enjoy and am a bit sick of toting around from apartment to apartment.  E-mail at whitey@opticalsloth.com if you’re interested!

Update for 12/5/08

New review for Curio Cabinet #4 by JB, and I’ll try to get something else up over the weekend to start to make up for lost time.  Anybody out there dying to see me review the last of the Cerebus phone books?  I’ve been reading them all in a row (and the ending, when I get there, for the first time) and was thinking about reviewing them, but… meh.  If anybody out there e-mails to say that they’re interested, I will dance for your amusement.  Otherwise I’ll just leave that page as is…

Update for 12/4/08

New review for Salvager Kain #3 by Paul Sloboda, and have I mentioned the Optical Sloth holiday shopping policy?  Basically, if you order anything up until the 20th, I’ll make sure that it gets to you by Christmas, for no extra cost on the shipping.  Well, I’ll make sure the post office has it and has assured me in every possible way that you’ll get it by Christmas, as I’m not in charge of the post office.  Look around in the store, there are plenty of cheap comics in there that you can afford even with the economy collapsing.

Update for 12/3/08

New review for Epic Tales of the Mundane #5 by Brandon Huigens & Brad Dwyer…

Update for 12/1/08

Happy last month of the year!  Man, between the insane schedule at work for the two elections and the two months I was laid up after my appendix almost asploded, I feel like a bystander to the whole year.  New review for Family Tales #4 by Janice Lowry…
